Andy, you have totally trashed this bar. It is no longer a gay man's bar. It is a lesbian/straight woman/black bar with many of them obviously using. The owners of this bar have to be stupid to let this continue. Have fun as the gay men continue to leave and go to other bars in town. Make the back room 'men only' as you promised, you big fraud. Get a cabaret license for male dancers and let the gay men know you want to stay gay. Otherwise, we're outta here!! and you can party with your girls.

The interior is typical of a bar that hasn't upgraded since they opened their doors. Drinks are worth the price however the bartender didn't seem to like his job much. Crowd was not the greatest and verbal assaults between patrons did make for an entertaining experience. One man offered me money to keep him "company" at which point I decided it was time to go elsewhere.

When I first started to live full time as a woman I would go here all the time and the people were nice and very accepting of everyone. The crowd is usually kinda small nowadays. The drinks are less expensive than some of the other places in town.

Blue Moon is a classic type Pgh bar: cheap drinks, friendly and diverse (mostly gay men, but some lezbos and tranz on the weekends) crowd. I'm a tranz and when I'm back in the Burgh I always stop in.

this is more of a older gay guy bar, with lots of trannygirls on the weekend. always a wild time! free jukebox in the back and STRONG long island iced teas. not too many lesbians--but that's okay. if i wanna check out some steelers lezzies i will go to donny's/weezie's in polish hill. this is my favorite bar, and i am a lesbian. and not old.

I used to be a regular at this bar, before i had to relocate for my job 8 months ago. This past weekend I stopped in and boy to my surprise this place was completely different. It is all newly remodeled and the vibe was great. There were some great drink specials as well. I had a frozen daquiri thats was as refereshing as the price. Great music too....must stop by

I just recently attended Blue Moon to enjoy the Elton John impersonator (who was really fun to watch). What I didnt expect was to be fondled by the bar tender who then attempted to force me to buy a beer. A terrible representation of the gay community.

Call ahead and find out what's going on... I have always had fun and enjoyed myself. One time I didn't and that was my fault. An old lady was bar tending and over charged me for drinks!!!

This had a great thing going. It had an unussually active happy hour, mostly 30s & 40s crowd. Friendly staff. After a couple months absence I went back to find a new, not very friendly staff and an emty bar with some skanky strippers waving their pimply butt in my face...yuck
So, what do you say?
