I was there the end of September on a Saturday night. The downstairs bar was not busy at all then I found the upstairs and chilled out in a corner for a bit but after my 2nd drink I was more relaxed. The nude go-go boys were hot and very friendly and if you asked them a question they would answer it truthfully. It was pretty full with a mixed crowd up stairs. If I must suggest a good drink to have try the upstairs long island iced tea they were so good and will get you tipsy really fast.
The rest room downstairs sucked it was very dirty and disgusting however the upstairs restroom is a much improvement. The bar itself was not what I expected it to be for my very first visit it needs cleaned up and a new floor plan so the boys don't have to dance on the bar and step on the nasty spilled drinks. Other than those items the boys and the drinks were the best. I just wished one of the dancers would have came home with me he had the perfect body.

Lucky's (AKA the Real Luck Cafe) is a neighborhood gay bar and cafe with two floors and a back deck. Note that you need to enter through the back door (of the bar, that is!) off the deck. Upstairs is another bar with hot nude dancer boys (from 10
pm 'til 1 am) and a smallish dance floor. I was there on Sat. 7/18/09. The patrons were mostly guys, and there were quite a few cute ones. Drinks were cheap, and there was no cover charge. Downstairs there were only a few guys, despite it being a
Saturday, but upstairs it was pretty crowded around the bar, with only a few people on the dance floor. A word of warning though: Don't touch the dancer boys or you may get thrown out!

I am a waiter and have been for 10 years and I have never been to a place where the employees are so rude. The doorman/bartender Kevin (I believe) checked my ID with a fine tooth comb, pulling me off to the side in a stern, unfriendly way. I understand the importance of checking ID's but I didn't know you had to act like a stern police officer, and the fact he is unattractive makes it all the worse. The dancers look to be on crack/cocaine and act as if they are better than everyone when, in fact, that is far from ther case.. Hate this place

We were visiting Pittsburgh from out of town. We went to Lucky's after leaving one of the other bars. Local patrons were very friendly and engaging. We were introduced to people and invited to play darts. Had a very positive experience. Found the upstairs bar to be fun. The building is older and a bit of a dive, but that adds to its charm.

I've always thought of Lucky's as a "Gay Cheers" because most of the people that come here- everyone really does know their names! Lucky's is the kind of bar that you can return to and has a friendlier-than-usual staff. I have seen many times where the staff have went out of their way to serve their patrons- unlike many gay bars in Pittsburgh. Anyone who gives Lucky's a thumbs down needs to stop by more than just one nite. I agree to some it may seem on the darker side but the place does grow on you. You never know who you will run into and it has a diverse crowd. I've been going to Lucky's since '99 and still drop by a few times a month, and I'm not a barfly... One thing I can say about this place: You can sit down beside a stranger and have a decent conversation and they don't act all stuck up like in many gay bars. Come as you are-- that's all the Lucky's crowd asks of anyone =)))

Bar has hope but needs a Juke box that has music from
this decade.
Some of the bar tenders have a big time attitude.
they spend more time on their laptops then bar tending.
Great place to relax at the down stairs bar or see the dancers upstairs

This bar has not changed a bit from the time I was 21 (and Im 35 now). Its still a big yinzer bar that is dark and grimey with skanky strippers and a very big drug crowd.

Edgar Dumb says it perfectly. (above)
sleasefest, watered down liquor, skanky strippers. another club that has been there for years and never an attempt to improve their club, filthy. No pride. I cant believe this place passes any inspections. Another relic from the past

Lucky's is a must-stop for anybody visiting Pgh and looking for a true anthropological taste of the city. It displays, in patrons and employees, the gritty, yinzofied nature of Pgh gay life. This is the haven for sad alcoholics and young party people alike. The best night to go is usually Sunday night. Because it attracts a crowd of people who love to hump, drink and do drugs, Sunday is like the last hoorah of the weekend. There is nothing glamorous here. This is the gay offspring of steelworkers, and they love to party HARD. If you wind up @ Club Hot afterwards, and then @ someone's hotel room to do drugs and mess around with a hustler, you've done it right. Picture John Waters' Baltimore to have an idea of the taste level. One time, on New Years Eve, I found myself there staring at water pouring from the ceiling and onto the cold cut "buffet" below. The owner was screaming and ran upstairs to find the women's room toilet had overflown. I swear to god: Nobody ever replaced that food and I saw several people eating it later on in the evening. Have Fun!
So, what do you say?
