Friction Pittsburgh Presents: Write On Me

Join us for our second event and continuing attempts to become the largest party network of guys in Pittsburgh! Last month, we had an attendance just shy of 400 men at our premier, pre-pride event at the beautiful venue, Cavo. Well, we think we can do better than that… If you are new to Friction, fear not. Friction is a monthly gay guy dance party complete with a DJ, dance floor, photographer and an exclusive, changing venue. We are two lovable lesbians who have been throwing a similar monthly party for the last 2 years for the LGBT women in Pittsburgh. Several gay guys attend our events and have asked, “Why don’t you throw a dance party for the men?” And thus, Friction Pittsburgh was born. In the end, we’re two girls just trying to expand the gay and lesbian community in Pittsburgh with really fun monthly dance parties. And no one does it better than us! There's Cruze, there's Spin, there's 58 and a bunch of bars downtown. And let's not forget about Lucky's. The guys have a lot of choices! However, this means that on any given night they're separated into smaller groups. What if, for one night each month, we brought all the men in Pittsburgh together into a single venue? First, it would be more fun (more hot guys for eye-candy!) Second, it'll open up the dating pool because everyone who is anyone will be going. Third, it will be a night to remember! That's where we come in! Friction Pittsburgh is hosting its second event - the event of a lifetime - at Whim Nightclub in Station Square with a White T-Shirt dance party! This experience will be similar to the epic gay parties in NY and LA. We're exclusively taking over a straight venue for one night and filling it with hundreds of gay guys. We go big or we go home! About the Event Location: Whim Address: 7 East Carson St. Pittsburgh, PA 15205 Date: Friday, July 5th, 2013 Time: 9PM - 2AM Cost to get in the door: $5 Age: 21+ Only About the Venue Whim Nightclub is a newly remodeled venue in Station Square, designed to hold the biggest parties with the brightest lights in Pittsburgh! Whim is comprised of two large main rooms. We will be exclusively taking over the front half of the venue. This area includes plenty of mingle space and an oversized dance floor complete with a one of a kind, 6-legged, 30- foot diameter spider truss emitting beautiful, bright lights to set the mood. We will have access to 3 bars with multiple bartenders servicing each one. There are also couches and VIP areas surrounding the commotion. Get there early if you want to snag one! You can also call the venue directly to reserve the table! Parking is available in the main Station Square lot and the entrance to Friction is around the back, facing East Carson Street. So when you park, just walk around the building. Theme This month is the debut of our White T-Shirt Party. What fashion statement screams summer better than a white v-neck t? The catch? Several markers will be provided at the door to write messages, your phone number, maybe a penis drawing or five, or anything you’d like on a cute guy! Just bring a white T, we'll provide the markers! No dress code required. However, you won't feel left out if you dress it up and skip the White T theme. Dress code is casual. There are no requirements. The party will be a good mixture of mingling, hanging out, connecting, and dancing. DJ Pete will be playing Top 40's with 80's and 90's dance hits mixed in. Drink Specials $2 Well Drinks until midnight! $2 Pinnacle Vodka until midnight! $3 Heinekens until midnight! Photographer and DJs DJ Pete has DJed many gay events before and is keen on studying the crowd to see what they react to. He takes requests! We will have a Photographer to capture couples, friends, or random candids. We put these pics on Facebook under a friends only album. If you want a group picture with your friends or your guy for Facebook, feel free to ask our photographer! If you don’t want any record of this night, add your name to our list at the front table, and we’ll make sure not to put up any pics of you. We’re very strict about this policy! Safety We're going to be partying with hundreds of men and anticipate a fun, safe and flawless experience! So no drugs, fighting, or anything like that and we'll be able to continue these huge, amazing parties as a tradition every month :) Parking There is a parking lot right outside of the venue. Ways to Mingle if you’re Single We will be doing Singles Bracelets!! When you enter, you will be offered two different colored bracelets if you're single. An Orange Bracelet means you're looking for a relationship (single) A Blue Bracelet means you're up for hooking up You can wear both :) If you are in a relationship, you can just not wear a bracelet. Participation is optional for the bracelets, you can just come to party and have a good time :)
