Open Mind Open Mic

Bring your music, your jokes, your poems, your dancing, or anything else, and show your stuff in front of a crowd! You'll never get any funnier if you don't practice. If you're not a performer, come anyway to watch! My favorite comics in the city frequent this mic, and it's the first (and only) mic in the city explicitly started to be a home for queer and feminist comedy. As it's an open mic the best we can promise is a safe-ish space, but people have been super nice so far. Even the comics, which is a little weird if you've ever had to hang out with comics before. The Gay and Lesbian Community Center is at 210 Grant St, Ste L102, downtown. Open Mind Open Mic is held the first and third Wednesday of every month, from 7 to 9 PM. Suggested donation to keep the lights on at the GLCC is $2 per guest, but we can cover you if you cannot spare it.
