Trans*Voices of Pittsburgh n' Beyond

On Saturday, November 22, 2014, Garden of Peace Project will host Trans*Voices of Pittsburgh n' Beyond with show creator, Jennifer Wilson, show director, Naomi Miller, and creative arts director, Hotep TheArtist, to present a monologue showcase of the trans* community. Performers have written and perform their own original pieces. Trans*Voices of Pittsburgh is a show entirely dedicated to the trans* community and giving space for the, too often silenced, trans* community a place to speak their experience, the joys and sorrows. For this year's performance, Garden of Peace Project has invited 8 celebrities to be headline the show and we will announce the headliners by mid-October 2014. Trans*Voices of Pittsburgh n' Beyond is a part of the Trans*Voices Summit 2014. At the Trans*Voices Summit, participants will learn to develop their own story, our story, and urgent story, while learning to teach others the same skills. Participants will learn about activism, advocacy, and organizing the community around this essential issue plaguing the larger community. Participants will attend the VIP Meet n’ Greet and Trans*Voices of Pittsburgh and Beyond show on Saturday evening; some of the participants monologues will be added to the show. On Sunday, we will do a debrief with the participants and do a few lasting encouraging activities for their final push to create the Trans*Voices of the city/town or replicate Trans*Voices of Pittsburgh in their city/town; thus beginning a trans* network. http://www.gardenofpeaceproject.org/transvoices-summit-2014.html
