What is Rec2Tech?
September 12-17, something big is happening at the City of Pittsburgh’s rec centers—they’re turning into tech centers where kids can learn to use technology to express their creativity, solve real-world problems, and build job-ready skills. Learn more at rec2techpgh.org.
What is the Demo Party?
To commemorate Rec2Tech Week in Pittsburgh, we're inviting people of all ages to enjoy free food, fun activities, and a showcase of the work happening in the city's rec centers. On Saturday, September 17th, from 11am to 2pm at Schenley Plaza in Oakland, the Demo Party will be a celebration of 21st century learning in Pittsburgh.
Who's making this happen?
Mayor William Peduto and the City of Pittsburgh are teaming up with The Sprout Fund to run this demonstration that turns Citiparks recreation centers into technology centers. Rec2Tech Pittsburgh is proudly presented by Comcast NBCUniversal. Additional support is provided by the MacArthur Foundation and Eat'n Park.
