On February 25, the Steel City Stonewall Democrats will convene its entire membership to vote on which candidates will receive the organizationâs endorsement for the 2018 primary elections.
In order to fulfill our goal of ensuring that our members are well informed at the time of the vote, candidates should complete and submit questionnaires and make the appropriate contribution no later than February 20. Completed questionnaires will be posted on our website and emailed to members in advance of the meeting.
We ask all candidates seeking an endorsement to attend our endorsement meeting where you will be given a chance to meet our membership and address the crowd as a whole. The meeting will be held on Sunday, February 25 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Hyde Park Steakhouse on the North Shore. Voting will end at 3:00 PM.
Any new members wishing to vote in the endorsement process must register and pay dues by February 22. Renewing members may renew at the door in order to vote in the endorsement process.
Votes will be counted at the end of the event and the endorsement will be announced immediately. Simple plurality vote is required to receive endorsement.
